Dear all,
the scientific relevance of gender and sexuality may seem trivial to some, but no topic seems to have become as much socio-political negotiated in recent
decades. What is normal, which attributions are legitimate, which boundaries are useless or how much freedom is generally tolerable, are only a few of the exciting questions surrounding
multidimensional-performed sexualities and diverse-gender expressions in the 21st century. As an applied - historical - anthropologist, these are just a few of the
questions that guide me in my scholarly curiosity. The human being as a political and social concept sets new standards in expression and coexistence, in self-representation and
relationships, in short: what is lived and thought.

No one can escape creative change, nor is nostalgia for the past "order" illuminating. A contemporary time of changes in gender expressions and sexual liberalities
needs non-judgemental discussions in politics, art and science as well as a profound human-rights self-localization. These are my principles for research and
teaching, my guidelines in socio-political engagements and my ethos in working with people. Therefore, a respectful approach to diversity of opinions, spaces for non-violent debates and time for individual and collective growth are essential.
